Guide To BDSM In Thailand
I get asked about BDSM in Thailand surprisingly often. Most people assume that because Thailand has a huge adult entertainment industry, there must also be a massive fetish scene.
The reality is a bit different.
After spending years in the country and getting curious about the kink communities, the conclusion is pretty simple: BDSM exists in Thailand, but it’s a niche within a niche.
Besides some venues in Bangkok and Pattaya, you won’t find fetish clubs openly advertising.
There’s a pretty active fetish/kink scene with both Thais and foreigners, but it’s behind closed doors, in private apartments, and at invite-only events. But if you’re a tourist, you’re limited to the Fetish Clubs.
In this guide, I’ll break down the main BDSM hotspots in Thailand. This includes the type of crowd they attract, what activities are available, and what services to realistically expect.
Before I dive into the details, here’s a quick overview…
| City/Area | Availability | Scene & Audience | Price Level | Hotspots/Areas |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bangkok | Limited fetish clubs (Demonia, Octopus, Castle Thonglor). No public “hookup” red-light scene. Private munches on FetLife. | Niche kinksters (foreigners + some Thais). Fetish bars with SM shows; mostly drinking/music vibe. | Moderate-High: Entry 800–1,000 baht drinks ~300+ baht private play ~3,000+ baht per hr. | Sukhumvit Soi 33 (Demonia); Silom/Patpong Soi 2 (Octopus); Thonglor Soi 5 (Castle). |
| Pattaya | One main fetish club (The Castle Pattaya). But there are many freelancers in town, and some are open to BDSM activities. | Mixed expats and daring couples. Shows and interactive play areas. Couples-welcome. | High: Cover ~1,000 baht; drinks ~300 baht; play rooms 3,500 baht/hr. | 3rd Road (Phai) at The Castle Pattaya. |
| Phuket | Practically none. Only rumors of a closed “fetish bar” near Bangla Rd. | No formal fetish scene. General bar party crowds on Bangla Rd. | No venues. If any, likely extremely high for exclusivity. | Bangla Road (Patong) – general nightlife, but no known fetish club. |
| Other (Chiang Mai, Islands) | None known. Fetish events are private/online. | Mostly tourists just go to girly bars and massage parlors. | N/A | Chiang Mai Old City (Loi Kroh Rd) – only standard bars. Islands – general beach bars, no kink spots. |
Let’s start with the capital, where most power exchange dynamics happen…
Bangkok
Bangkok is where things happen when it comes to BDSM sexual practices.
There are only two names you’ll hear most often: Demonia and Octopus. Unfortunately, the Castle Special Lounge Bar chased operations in 2025.
Let’s check out each venue that remained operational:
- Demonia (Sukhumvit 33)

People call Demonia “Bangkok’s legendary fetish club” and the “best you can find” locally.
Inside, you’ll find girls dressed in kinky leather outfits and a dark dungeon-style atmosphere.
They host interesting events like couples night on the first Saturday of every month, so it’s very easy to meet swingers here as well.
Entry is 1000 baht (often including a drink and show), and hostess drinks are 350 baht, but money fuels the experience.
- Octopus (Patpong Soi 2)

The old BarBar Fetish Club reopened as “Octopus” on Patpong Soi 2. It’s a small bar in the basement of the Prime Bldg. just off Silom Road.
The club has maybe a dozen girls (unlike big go-go bars, fetish bars keep a smaller, niche crew).
Expect shady and erotic shows. Mistresses and dancers performing bondage and discipline routines for patrons.
The boss of this place Som, has more shows than before, but still it’s very niche. Octopus opens at 8 pm and charges 1000 Baht that include a drink.
Drinks range between 150 THB and 250 THB.
- Other Bangkok Notes: There are private BDSM meetups (often organized on FetLife or small Facebook groups), but these are invite-only.
The general consensus is that Thai culture is conservative, so off-mainstream sexual tastes stay hidden. Expect to see more fetish parties popping up, but they will screen attendees carefully.
If you find open fetish events (on Fetlife or social media), treat them as “munches” or orientation parties. Play events are usually vetted members only.
Pattaya
Pattaya is the only Thai city besides Bangkok with a dedicated BDSM club: the Castle.
- The Castle (3rd Road)

This place is on Pattaya Third Road (Phra Tamnuk Soi 3.
There’s a big dance floor (actually circular) and lots of marble tables. The crowd is mostly Westerners and adventurous couples, along with a handful of Thai locals. To get in, you pay 1.000 baht cover, which includes a drink.
The Castle’s staff (often called “mistresses”) will show you around. They have multiple “play areas” scattered throughout, some against the walls, some near a central bar.
All play areas cost about 3,500 baht per hour for one girl and are the size of Soi 6 short-time rooms. The girls will say sex isn’t allowed, but buy her 1 or 2 drinks and give 500 baht as a tip and do whatever you want.
You will find many couples here on holiday exploring their boundaries.
Ha! If you’re a beginner, the girls will happily help you to discover your kinks.
- Other Pattaya spots: No other dedicated BDSM clubs are known besides The Castle. Places like Heaven Above or Windmill have some girls into all sorts of things. Just tell them your kinks, and they’ll let you know if they’re willing to serve your desires.
Note: In Pattaya, there are tons of freelancers (self-employed prostitutes), and some are into kinks… For the right price, of course.
Just use TF to get in touch, and don’t be shy about sharing your desires. She’ll let you know if she can or can’t.
Phuket and Other Tourist Areas

The Phuket kink scene is basically underground and private. Your only chance is finding a private mistress is on FetLife.
The general nightlife on Bangla Road and Patong is wild (lots of go-go bars, ladyboys, etc.), but nothing on the level of a fetish club with BDSM gear.
There were rumors (mid-2020s) of a small “BDSM bar” in Patong (off Bangla Road) charging a high entry (~1,500 baht). But it got shut down after an underage-girl bust.
In practice, if you go to Phuket, don’t expect to find any BDSM clubs. Most advice is to stick with general party bars or try contacting FetLife groups. If something does pop up, it will be very hidden (perhaps marketed only to locals or on FetLife).
Nearby islands such as Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Chiang Mai don’t have any fetish clubs or events. These places have their red-light areas, but they are conventional (massage parlors, ladyboy shows, etc.), not kink-specific.
If you’re desperate, the only strategy is the same as anywhere else: network online or through local expats.
